They say a picture can replace a 1,000 words. Here's my back of the napkin summary of inspirational leadership. I hope it can help guide you along your personal leadership journey.

Inspirational leadership is all about moving the team to act toward a desired outcome. Lack of action generally occurs because a team member does not possess the skill to do the current job or they are afraid to try a new role because we have not helped them develop
the skills they need for that new role. They may have the skill but not possess the will to execute. Leaders have to keep the team safe physically and psychologically. You have to create an environment where team members feel safe to try new things outside of their comfort zone to build capacity for future assignments. They may not succeed at first. Is your culture a first attempt in learning (F.A.I.L.) organization, or is it an up or out organization? To overcome the fear of failure and create will the team has to trust that a leader has their back. Development of skill and creating the freedomto have a will to seek excellence creates courage. Courage is how we overcome fear. Courage is how we shift the paradigm frombeing afraid of taking action to being more afraid of what happens ifwe don’t take action.
